Gloria Bohan became fascinated with the travel business after her honeymoon cruise on the Queen Elizabeth 2. She realized that she was jealous of the travel agents who seem to get better rooms. This fascination led to the launch of her own travel business that started as a storefront agency in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1972. Bohan went door to door, introducing herself and her business and now, Omega World Travel, ranks as one of the largest travel management businesses in the world.

Today Omega World Travel is the top woman-owned business in the United States. Bohan manages all of the day-to-day operations and is a founding member of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce; she was also a key player in forming the Society of Government Travel Professionals. Bohan is also involved in creating a program called Space Adventures that will send the first tourists into space.
